They understand that everyone's situation is unique, and are there to offer compassionate and practical assistance wherever possible.

ROAR- Reach Out And Recover
Advocacy Lead Martin Whitehead
ROAR Kent is a dynamic, grassroots-led community advocacy network dedicated to amplifying the voices of individuals and families affected by mental health challenges, social exclusion, and systemic disadvantage. With a strong presence across Kent, ROAR (Reach Out and Recover) works to ensure that lived experience is not only heard—but central to decision-making, service design, and systemic change.
At the heart of ROAR Kent’s work is a commitment to empowerment through advocacy, peer support, and direct action. The network provides a platform for people with lived experience to co-produce solutions, influence local policy, and hold services accountable to the communities they serve. ROAR promotes trauma-informed practice, equality, and social justice, ensuring that every individual—regardless of background—has access to a safe space where their story matters.
Leading this mission in the Swale area is Martin Whitehead, ROAR’s dedicated Advocacy Lead. With years of personal and professional experience navigating mental health and community support systems, Martin brings deep insight, integrity, and passion to his role. He is a strong advocate for co-production and user-led change, often working alongside statutory and voluntary organisations to drive inclusive, community-based improvements.
Martin is instrumental in facilitating peer-led forums, speaking at public events, and mentoring individuals who are ready to step into advocacy roles themselves. His approach is person-centred, relational, and rooted in the belief that change happens when people feel empowered, supported, and connected.
ROAR Kent continues to build partnerships across health, housing, social care, and the voluntary sector—delivering training, awareness campaigns, and grassroots engagement projects. Joe Ramsay is a respected Registered Mental Health Nurse and Neurodivergent Consultant, with a wealth of experience shaped by both professional expertise and lived experience. His work is defined by a deep commitment to advancing neurodiversity inclusion, improving mental health support, and creating systems that serve vulnerable and underrepresented communities with dignity, compassion, and understanding.
Joe offers one-to-one support for neurodivergent individuals and those experiencing mental health challenges. He works across community, education, and organisational settings, delivering consultancy, training, and strategy development focused on neurodiversity-informed practice, inclusive mental health care, and peer-led approaches. In addition to individual support, Joe provides tailored training sessions and talks for organisations, and offers specialist consultancy to a wide range of services, including CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and Adult/Children’s Social Care. His consultancy helps these organisations develop inclusive, neurodiversity-friendly practices and improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals.
The Linn Ramsay Academy for Mental Health and Neurodiversity is an online platform offering one of the world’s largest collections of free, professional resources on neurodiversity. The Academy also runs multidisciplinary, professionally led support groups in Leeds for neurodivergent individuals.
These resources are used by individuals for personal development and by organisations as part of staff education and awareness programmes. The Academy champions accessible, trauma-informed learning and promotes practical tools to support inclusion and wellbeing across all sectors. All resources are offered free of charge, helping to remove barriers to knowledge and support.
Joe is widely recognised for his collaborative, values-led approach. He works alongside grassroots initiatives, community partners, and advocacy groups to co-develop workshops, campaigns, and inclusive projects. His work is grounded in the belief that lived experience holds power, and that meaningful change comes from centring voices too often overlooked.
He is also known for developing tailored training and consultancy for teams working with complex neurodiversity and mental health cases. Whether consulting on organisational culture, delivering awareness training, or supporting individuals through education, Joe’s focus remains clear: to create safe, inclusive, and empowering environments where neurodivergent and vulnerable people are not only supported—but valued.

The Wolfpack is a bold, youth-led community collective founded on the Isle of Sheppey, focused on empowerment through creativity, peer support, and digital innovation. With a growing presence across Kent, The Wolfpack operates as a network of sub-groups and passion-driven projects, designed to reflect the diverse talents, interests, and lived experiences of its members.
Led by Oliver Edwards and Charlotte Cook, The Wolfpack centres accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability in all its work. It champions a flexible, person-first approach—recognising the importance of working at a realistic pace that accommodates personal circumstances, family responsibilities, and mental health needs.

Collaboration is at the heart of The Wolfpack’s ethos. It has begun building partnerships with local organisations such as Sheppey Pulse Network, with a shared focus on youth empowerment, community media, and grassroots resilience. All engagements are shaped by mutual respect, autonomy, and the understanding that every participant brings value—whether through creativity, care, or collaboration.
The Wolfpack continues to evolve as a platform for expression, learning, and belonging, offering a new kind of community leadership led by young people, for young people.
